“The only reason I gave him the job…”

Donald Trump told us on more than one occasion that former FBI Director James Comey, was a liar when he claimed the President tried to elicit his loyalty instead of giving it to the United States of America.  Each time Mr. Trump tells a lie, “later on,” to steal a phrase, he eventually reveals it.  Trump’s perpetual in-house punching bag, Jeff Sessions, was only given the job of Attorney General because of his “loyalty” according to Mr. Trump.

“You know, the only reason I gave him the job is because I felt loyalty…”Trump told Fox News host Ainsley Earhardt.   So, are we to believe he wanted loyalty only from Jeff Sessions but not the top cop of law enforcement?  The incredulity of that statement is baffling, I think Mr. Trump may have “ratted” himself out with that statement.  Hillary Clinton warned America that Donald Trump did not have the temperament to be President.  Trump is petulant, childlike in his behavior, averse to learning the job, self-absorbed and chillingly the titular leader of the free world.

If you listen to the man, he is a treasure trove of ink blots for an amateur psychologist. He believes that some law enforcement efforts to get information from the participants of criminal conspiracies should be illegal, not unethical, but illegal.  I draw the distinction because even as children we are told not to be a tattle-tale but those are lessons in ethics, not criminality. Mr. Trump’s view of life proves he still sees the world through the eyes of a child.

Speaking of children, a child takes on the look of shame when they knowingly lie, Trump takes on the look of satisfaction.  Trump’s ability to look you in the eye and say something he knows is a lie are either the signs of a sociopath or a comprehensive contempt for humanity.  Maybe I am wading too deeply into the muck and mire of Trump’s mind without hip boots, but as a citizen, I am left with little choice but to try and understand what is happening to our collective lives. This has become an uncomfortable daily exercise in trying to understand what is happening and avoid pulling out our own hair with his daily machinations.  Since hardly anyone in this administration tells you any consistent truth, from Sarah Sanders shoveling White House pablum, to “What you're seeing and what you're reading is not what's happening." all the way to “truth isn’t truth” you cannot help but question your own lucidity.

I listened to the President of my United States say yesterday, “I know all about flippers, 30—40 years I’ve been watching flippers.” This, of course, was in reference to his mob-boss reaction to what we have seen played out in every gangster movie since James Cagney. The President at least made Cagney proud by the way, he almost said, “you dirty rat” last week.  John Dean, the former White House counsel during the Nixon administration, was called a “rat” by the current President because he [Dean]saw it as a duty to put country before personal loyalty.  I do have a question; why is the President of the United States so familiar with people who flip on criminals for considerations from law enforcement? Makes you wonder, who were his friends…
