With political debates raging over foreign policy, the criminal justice system and economic growth, the one subject Donald Trump is able to demonstrate his expertise is, how to commit sexual assault.

During last night’s debate, Donald Trump admitted he has not spoken with his running mate, Mike Pence over the most important decision our President ever makes, whether to send troops into the bosom of death.  In the vice-presidential debate a week earlier Mr. Pence said he would consider sending American ground troops into Syria. This was in response to a questions about Russian assistance and aggression against resistance forces to the Assad regime.  Mr. Trump said he has not spoken to his running mate on the subject and disagrees.

On the subject of the criminal justice system his lack of heft is stunning.  His first proposal is to bring back a practice that has been deemed un-Constitutional and has proven to be functionally ineffective, Stop and Frisk. This law, most famously instituted by Mayor Giuliani in NY has never been proven with any data to halt or reduce crime.  It was a racially symbolic messages to soothe white people and strike fear in communities of color. Apparently, “Donald” thinks that all Black men and women live in a 5-mile square area in some corner of the United States that is ruled by roving mobs of murderers and uneducated children. Those of us lucky enough to escape are apparently hidden in Caucasian neighborhoods and harbored by benevolent white Americans.

Economic growth has actually risen in the past 6 years despite the constant lie of falling and growing income disparity. According to statistics from the Federal Reserve and the Census Bureau the median income level was 51,939 dollars in 2013 down from its peak in 1999 of 57,000(under President Bill Clinton). The recovery from the Republican economic crash, headed by President George W. Bush in 2007, has been on a steady rise to 53,657 in 2014 to last year’s number of 54,462.  Donald Trump, I would submit, has never read or had an interest in a census report or Federal Reserve data. He speaks in bumper sticker-eze.

In his conversations with TV personality Billy Bush and radio jock Howard Stern, Donald speaks in great detail on the subject of how to demean and assault women.  He once gave literal permission to Mr. Stern to refer to his daughter, Ivanka, as a, “piece of ass.” This is the man who waxed poetically on the size, shape, age and ripeness of women, thirty-five seems to be his cutoff age. Watch out Melania.  Even in his attempt to create reality show drama for last night’s debate at Washington University in St. Louis, Donald brought out the women of Bill Clinton’s past atrocious behavior.

Does anyone really believe his sympathy was with these women or were these women just another tool to be used to satisfy his warped sense of their worth. Their pain was a prop for him to use, their embarrassment a curl at the end of his vicious grin.  Donald skidded under the low bar of expectations last night but I want and expect more from the next President of the United States. I am spoiled, I have had almost eight years of dignity, competence and achievement. Thanks, Obama!
