For those of you who believe in the literal interpretation of the Gospel and for those who consider it a book of moral fables; when did Jesus join the Republican Party?
If you apply even handed objectivity, the man who provided free healthcare, despised sinful opulence and forgave thieves, seems to be at odds with the current standard bearer of the Republican Party. Despite that, a plethora of Republican leaning evangelicals have bestowed their forgiveness and blessings on a man who wants to end health care for the underprivileged, install a tax code that would raise the wealth of the rich and would have put to death, five innocent young men of color.
First of all, the victim of the heinous rape and assault, known famously as the Central Park Jogger Case, Trisha Meili, is seldom mentioned because she was turned into a racially and politically motivated football by people like Donald Trump. Eventually, the true perpetrator of the crime confessed. Ms. Meili has hopefully found some peace in her life of relative anonymity and the five young men eventually won a wrongful conviction case against the state of New York for 41 million dollars. Incidentally, the then boys, spent 6 to 13 years in prison before being released. I reiterate the details of the case because despite a confession and DNA evidence clearing the young men, Donald Trump to this day after calling for their execution refuses to admit his error and still advocates their guilt.
So a man who is incapable, it seems, of true contrition or forgiveness is backed by Jerry Falwell Jr., Billy Graham’s son Franklin and Pat Robertson, who described Donald Trump’s recent lewd description of sexual assault on a woman as just, “macho talk.” I have been told by these “God fearing” men for years, that forgiveness is the basis of Christianity but Barack Obama according to them is an American hating Muslim, Hillary Clinton is tantamount to the devil and the Democratic Party is pushing “God-less secularism” according to Franklin Graham.
Here lies the problem with interjecting religion into politics, cross wielding zealots and scientifically challenged moralist impose their beliefs on the masses. If you disagree you are labelled some sort of heretic who wants to murder babies and turn every heterosexual into a gay play toy. Go back and look into the Jerry Falwell controversy over the Teletubbies. What this has led to is Donald Trump standing before a national TV audience during a presidential debate and calling the former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, a devil with hatred in her heart. By the way it is curious that Donald Trump used the word “hate” the day before an email dump was made by WikiLeaks and allegedly the Russians. Clinton Campaign chairman John Podesta, spoke in an email about Hillary not being fond of the phrase “everyday Americans” and said, “I know she has begun to hate everyday Americans (referring to the use of the phrase as a political tool), but I think we should use it once the first time she says I am running for president…”
My implication is that Donald Trump got a heads up about what the emails may have revealed. He may have confirmed this himself by lying during the debate when he said he had no idea if Russia is involved in the email hacking of the DNC and the Clinton campaign. It is widely known that both campaigns have been informed of Russian hacking during their private national security briefings. We are on the edge of dictatorial power being wielded by a man as Mrs. Clinton has said repeatedly, “can be provoked by a tweet” be careful America, he has promised jail for those who oppose him.
