Negotiating with ‘Errorist’

This morning in his latest batch of rescinded Executive Orders issued by his predecessor, President Joe Biden reinstated the rights of transgender men and women to serve in the armed services. Biden was quoted as saying, “Allowing all qualified Americans to serve their country in uniform is better for the military and better for the country because an inclusive force is a more effective force. Simply put, it’s the right thing to do and is in our national interest. An even simpler evaluation came from former Arizona Republican Senator Barry Goldwater who said, “you don't need to be 'straight' to fight and die for your country. You just need to shoot straight.” Goldwater’s common sense, much like Ronald Reagan when he realized that 3 million immigrants could not be boarded on chartered buses back to parts unknown, and agreed to a form of amnesty, would now be manna to feed the disciples of the right-wing media machine.

Republicans have been crying foul the past week because the winner of an election has decided to fulfill the promises of his campaign. Mr. Biden signed at least 17 Executive Orders, efforting to correct his perception of the violations of the rule of law and decency by Trump. President Biden is being accused of not trying to unify America, it is not America the GOP is concerned about it is their grip on power. For 4 years we heard (C)onservative lawmakers after right-wing pundit after basement-dwelling blogger saying to liberals, the President is just keeping his promises, we won, live with it. Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell in 2017, with a conqueror’s swagger, responded to a group of protesters chanting “no ban, no wall,” with, “They had their shot in the election. ... But in this country when you win the election you get to make policy. I always remind people, winners make policy and losers go home,” said McConnell. In fairness, McConnell did offer up words respecting their rights to protest but there was no talk of unity.

Florida Republican Senator Marco Rubio called the Houses’ second impeachment of former President Trump “stupid” and “counterproductive.” Mr. Rubio what is stupid and counterproductive is inciting an insurrectionist riot, based on a bogus video offered up as evidence by Rudy Giuliani, an alleged drunken witness, a charge she denies, and a colleague who threatened to release the ‘Kraken.’ Now there are constant calls from the 74 million who voted for Mr. Trump to impose their definition of unity on the 81 million+ who voted for the winner, Joe Biden.

The Republicans cannot identify who they are; so exactly who are the Democrats to unify with?

Are they the party who only believes in deficit spending when they hold power?

Are they the party that wants to continue to impose trickle-down economics, no matter how many millions of Americans are trickled on?

Are they the party who for 12 years promised a new healthcare plan only to deliver bait and switch?

Are they the party that wants the government to stay out of our lives but not our bedrooms?

Are they the party that thinks that a snowball in February means that Climate change is a hoax?

Or are they the party that has tied itself to the bumper of QAnon who think Democrats are satanic baby blood-drinking pedophiles?

It is impossible to unify with a party whose plans do not work and who are now scared of the lunacy they have fomented for power.

Continue to Vote for Change.
