Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller finally spoke to the public—that pays his salary, from on high this morning. The Mueller quote that will be most repeated today is, “If we had confidence the President clearly did not commit a crime we would have said so.” Beyond that, he pointed out two specific examples as to why he chose to defend the rule of law as opposed to accusing the President. I can hear Democrats squealing with joy, but I must ask why? Mueller leaned heavily on the Department of Justice regulations, which is not a Constitutional edict as he claimed, to make the case he was not allowed to indict in public or in secret, with sealed charges, the President of the United States.
The bottom line was that Robert Mueller, for the purposes of “fairness” in his words, declined to assign criminal guilt to the President and screamed out to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for a political comeuppance and begin the Impeachment of Donald John Trump. Mueller went on to adopt the White House stance of resisting testifying before Congress by holding his breath and stomping his feet, but he was forthright enough to say explicitly the Russians worked persistently and repeatedly to elect Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States. Mueller confirmed, that despite continuous efforts by the President to minimize Russian participation, “Russian intelligence officers, who were part of the Russian military, launched a concerted attack on our political system…”
In a sweeping verbal indictment of the trickeries surrounding the election of 2016 Mueller named both Wikileaks, the Russians and social media conspirators who worked on behalf of one of the candidates; of course implicit in that comment was his assertion that the Russians worked on behalf of Mr. Trump and against Mrs. Clinton. Mueller could not have served a softer lob to the Democrats than Serena Williams. Jerrold Nadler the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee has scheduled a 2 pm presser to respond to Mueller’s public statement and I suppose his public refusal to voluntarily testify before his committee. I would like to see Mr. Nadler compel Mr. Mueller to speak before the American people openly and fully.
Mueller laid down the gauntlet of refusal stating he will have nothing more to say beyond what was in his report, by repeating more than once ‘the report speaks for itself.’ In furtherance of his opposition, in effect declining, in public, the invitation to speak before the Judiciary Committee. For all those who have praised and feted Mueller’s integrity and honesty; what better way for him to prove it than to come before the American public and admit what the world knows, ‘Donald Trump is a liar and a cheat.’ I know Mueller cannot be as blunt as me, nor should he be, but he can set the record straight for the sake of the country, for the sake of truth and for the sake of American justice.
