Go, Go, Go Get It—Boy!

As the two garment makers set up their loom in the White House yesterday, weavers Pelosi and Schumer laid bare the President of the United States for all the world to see.  Perched on his upholstered golden throne, with his weekend Bernie at his side, Mr. Trump mansplained, waved 3x5 cards of made up information, all while touting the mythological existence of his new wall.  Of course, this was all theater as Trump acted as his own jester for the American people.

This was all distraction…

Donald Trump understands showmanship and yesterday’s performance was strictly for show and yell.  He wanted to show his base that Robert Mueller was not on is mind, and why not yell at Democratic leadership for good measure.  Just the day before the irrefutable proof was given to the American public that “Individual 1”[Donald Trump] committed a crime.  So, in the early morning hours yesterday, Mr. Trump tossed a tweet stick onto the White House lawn and the press sat up to beg.  They forgot that merely 48 hours prior speculation that the President is a confessed criminal was at the top of their papers just below the masthead.

A week earlier the President was setting up an alibi for a Crown Prince of a killer.  Despite all that had gone on before the Khashoggi murder, I sincerely tried to practice objectivity, for the most part and avoided ad hominin attacks.  All that went out the window when the President was willingly complicit to a murder and put a dollar figure on a man’s life.  I admit I have lost my objectivity, propriety, and the tip of my tongue is relieved because the biting has stopped.  Oh, I will comment on Trump’s latest folly from time to time but I have decided to keep my eye on the ball instead of chasing it.

Important things like the withdrawal from the Paris Climate Accord, the resending of hard-earned pollution standards championed by the Democrats; A Republican-led tax cut, held out by the President like a carrot for the middle class, only to be replaced by a rotten tomato, while the rich julienne the 99% of the rest of us for their salads. It has gotten so bad that the Washington Post has redefined Trump’s lies as “bottomless Pinocchios.” I appreciate the Post telling us what we already know but it is more pleasant to listen to an old Chi-Lites lyric that says it all “… today again I’ve lied.”

So off with my bark collar, and no more chew toys or rawhide bites.

The list of suspicious acts by the Trump Administration grows longer every day.  The chummy relationship with Jared Kushner and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman; recently confessed Russian agent Maria Butina taking a group from the NRA to meet with Russian officials.   Let me get this straight, the leading gun ownership rights group in America, who advocates arming yourself against American tyranny is exchanging firing pins with the Russians.  The evangelicals who are excusing both the President’s lies and his extramarital affairs is passing the basket and morality on Sundays, wow!

The next time that fuzzy tennis ball crosses your path let it lay, you will thank yourself later.

Vote in 2020 for Change.
