Well, Collusion is a Crime…

The last infamous circumstance that I can remember someone close to the White House having something thrown at them was a President, one George W. Bush.  On a visit to Iraq in December of 2008, Iraqi journalist Muntadar al-Zaidireferred to the American President as a ‘dog’ and threw a shoe at him.  With the nimbleness and form of WhiteGoodmanfrom the movie Dodgeball, Mr. Bush avoided the embarrassment of walking the streets with a heel print tattooed on his forehead.  Paul Manafort may want to watch that video because he could not duck the book being thrown at him and may have a number virtually tattooed to his chest for years to come. The first of his two trials opened yesterday and the jury was regaled with stories of his greed and opulent obscenity. A 15,000-dollar ostrich jacket was offered as proof by the prosecutor. Although bad taste is not a jail-worthy offense, you get the point.

Manafort who has been set adrift by the Trump administration and is now being characterized as a hanger-on guy, was the campaign manager for Donald Trump for five months, not 49 days as falsely claimed by the President.  Manafort was hired in March of 2016 and lasted until August of the same year.  Manafort was such an intricate part of the campaign he was credited with putting down a proposed uprising by the ‘never-Trumpers.’ He orchestrated Trump’s appearances at the Republican convention in Cleveland and we also have him to thank for V.P. Mike Pence.  Trump’s brain is not flexible enough to maneuver the pommel horse of thought necessary to execute the verbal gymnastics he is using to try and leap over Manafort’s role in his campaign.  Barring a miracle, Paul Manafort is facing 15 years in his Virginia trial and another 15 when he is tried in D.C. and for a 70-year-old man, that could be a death sentence.

At the head of this monster is the “collusion” allegations against the President. Despite months of hearing Trump repeat, ‘no collusion, no collusion;’ if it was all a hoax, why is Trump now denying a non-crime?  The only smart thing coming from the Trump camp is message control.  Democrats and other real patriots who abhor the infection of the Russian virus in our elections process know that collusion is a simile for CONSPIRACY.  What this reminds me of is when conservatives reworked the words Global warming instead of the more accurate Climate Change.  As a result, they tell us because the word collusion does not appear in the legal statutes, then the crime must not exist. That is like saying because it gets cold in the winter, global warming is a hoax.

What this world of Twitter shorthand has led to is an uninformed electorate simply because we prefer good messaging and clever acronyms over substance. ICYMI, I hear every day that middle America cannot or will not follow what is happening to the country because it is too complicated. If we do not follow the possible willful treason by a United States President with a Russian thug, then order your Cyrillic keyboards now. The Oxford Dictionary defines collusion as, secret or illegal cooperation or conspiracy, especially in order to cheat or deceive others. A crime by any other name, smells...
