Dear…Trump

An angry opportunist with distinctive hair, uncompromising arrogance and no grip on factual reality, reared his ugly head again today.  For those of you who are thinking Donald Trump, you get the game show wrong answer buzzer. The shame is that you are within reason to have thought of the GOP front runner’s name.

Robert Dear, is the correct answer today.  Mr. Dear is due in court today at 3:30 pm est. to begin the next phase of his proceedings through the Colorado Springs, Colorado court for the murder of three people at the local Planned Parenthood facility. His mental competency will be argued.  Incoherent rantings marked his first court appearance and it is anticipated the continued nonsense will be repeated.  As the self-styled “warrior for the babies,” Dear was visibly disturbed while delivering his deranged manifesto denouncing his perception of what goes on at the clinics.  If you cruise the web, he has his ardent followers and they hail him as a hero.  For them a defender of the fetus is much more important than the murderer of the living.

For a few short days Mr. Dear, was able to Trump the other fact-less, hair distinctive, arrogant news hound.  Just recently, Mr. Trump questioned the need or purpose (ok I am a little lost trying to make logic of the gerbil, spinning inside the wheel in his head) of Mrs. Clinton using the bathroom, during the debate break.  Somehow he has convinced a growing conservative base that racism, xenophobia, “stupid people” or common sense are all trickery and contrived political correctness by the elites.  I am not sure who is to blame for the ugly discourse and the seeming ability to overlook blatant hatred but there have been warnings.  During the sixties Martin Luther King was called an agitator.

Ronald Reagan, announced his presidential aspirations in Philadelphia, Mississippi, the home of one of the most egregious civil rights violations and murders during the volatile era. The GOP and Reagan progressed the characterization of the poor as “welfare queens.” President George Herbert Walker Bush (41) advanced the fear quotient with the Willie Horton campaign ads, the premise being the scary black convict will get you if you don’t have me to protect you. Lee Atwater, political strategist and the 54th chairman of the Republican National Committee devised this strategy and has long ago been outed for his use of race baiting as a campaign tactic. Mr. Atwater regretted and tacitly acknowledged his “naked cruelty” to Democratic hopeful Michael Dukakis, before his death.  Who will stop the wheel of lies, ignorance and racism before it mows us all down?   Robert Dear, murdered three people, Donald Trump, is murdering the idea of a fair America.
