The Fortunes of Trump and One Smart Cookie

Fire the rockets, threaten an enemy…win a tweet.

Back in April of this year, President Trump lavished praise on the fortuitous rise of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, calling him a “smart cookie”http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/donald-trump-kim-jong-un_us_5906f2a5e4b05c397680864c.  Besides the feeble-minded ignorance and subtle racism, Mr. Trump once again bowed to a strong man of another country.  Jong-un fired off an ICBM this past weekend allegedly with the long-range trajectory to reach Alaska.  Mr. Trump’s response was a tweet asking for help from China.  His call for a “heavy move” from China was both ineffective and childish http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/07/03/trump-tweets-angry-response-to-north-korean-missile-launch.html.  For years the GOP ridiculed former President Obama’s administration’s “leading from behind” statement, the nuance of strategy was completely lost on them http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/01/opinion/01iht-edcohen01.html.

In the case of Donald Trump, he prefers leading in his pajamas with an AM tweet, in effect, paraphrasing the old adage, he is full of bluster and fakery, signifying nothing.

I cannot be the only person bold enough or smart enough to recognize and say out loud, the President of the United States is dangerously ignorant and has no idea what he is doing. I know that sounds simplistic but he demonstrates it over and over to little fanfare or worse yet, little fear.  He was asked for details about the GOP led healthcare reform he had no idea.  When asked about his agenda for the G20 summit and his meeting with Vladimir Putin we have been told, by National Economic Council Chair Gary CohnWe don’t have an agenda set up right now.”http://talkingpointsmemo.com/dc/trump-putin-meeting-g20-summit-agenda.

Dating back to his misadventures of how to handle a nuclear armed Asia and Europe during the campaign, Trump demonstrated an elementary school level of sophistication of foreign and domestic affairs.

At the end of the previous interview snippet, host Chris Matthews all but called the President insane, using proxy language of course.  He tried to get him to see the foolish nature of his thinking, but as always, the now President of the United States is in a constant battle of fighting his ego driven instincts, harmful pride and ignorance.

During the past eight years, despite your political ideology or party affiliation, no one felt embarrassed by President Obama’s appearance on the world stage. You may not have liked the outcome but you felt he represented the country with dignity, restraint and intellect. America has embarked on a journey of daily domestic and international embarrassment, low IQ answers to tough questions and constant fits of Presidential insecurity.  I also hold America accountable for this bastardization of Democracy.  Lots of conservatives were overwhelmed with the changing color or gender of America and wanted a return to the “good ole days.  Lots of liberals held their breath and stomped their feet because the perfect candidate was not or never will be available. So, we went with the Susan Sarandon mantra of, lets blow it all up.  Nice if you can afford it.

Well, we are closer to seeing it being blown up. We have a President who ignores the rule of law, flirts with totalitarianism and defies the right to know through a free press.  It is not as if he does not recognize himself, that he is ill-equipped for the job, it is even more insidious, he does not care.  Unfortunately, I fear his pride will not goeth before the country’s fall.

Vote in 18’ and Change.
