I have sat through all the punditry and speculating but to my satisfaction no one has told me what exactly makes the former Secretary of State guilty.
Presidents, Vice-Presidents and government officials have been involved with charitable organizations in the past without the scrutiny unleashed on the Clintons. George H.W Bush’s Points of Light Foundation, Jimmy Carter’s Habitat for Humanity, all reputable but with minimal public accountability. The Haliburton Company, a for profit venture, helping to make Dick Cheney rich beyond his wildest dreams, has not made him the fodder of dishonesty questions daily. Recently the Trump campaign has been paying Donald Trump holdings an exorbitant fee to rent office space for his campaign in buildings he owns. In essence he quintupled the monthly rent from a reported 35,000 dollars per month to nearly 170,000 dollars per month once his campaign contributions rose and essentially is paying himself to run for President.
Donald Trump just this afternoon revealed his own weakness and strategy. He said that Hillary Clinton has lied so much that she can’t be prosecuted because her numerous lies cannot be remembered. I challenge you to recall the last five lies Donald Trump told this past weekend. It is difficult, he is right if you lie as often as he does, it is hard to keep track. I think in psychology they call it ‘projection.’ All the vague unworkable ideas, constant repeating of applause lines as if he were in a real-estate scam, and hiding both his worth, and taxes. This new found non-racist conversion is not going to fly either. He has no plausible reason for hiding his tax returns and no plausible reason for not talking to African-American audiences. He is courting the racism of nanny-ism, by delivering his message of patronizing superiority by stereotyping minorities before cheering white throngs.
I hate to burst the Trump bubble, I am a Black man who grew up with solid, moral role models, went to good schools and I do not fear my neighbors. I have been exposed to a Black working class society all my life. Donald Trump apparently believes between his late night twitter rants and watching the three-hundredth showing of ‘Boyz in the Hood’ on cable tv, that tells him all he needs to know. After all he has claimed that watching “the shows” has a big influence on his foreign policy, so why not his cultural awareness?
I began by asking exactly what is Hillary guilty of? Some questionable judgment, policy conflicts with less jingoistic liberal supporters or is it taking advantage of her education and position as many politicos, like her, have in the past. Not liking the way, she laughs, or her policy, does not make her guilty of a crime, other than the crime of disagreement. I am perfectly willing to listen show me evidence, not speculation or personal animus, tell me why she is guilty?
