Self-proclaimed “Trump staffer” Meredith McIver, is taking the blame for the plagiarism flap committed by Melania Trump, wife of Republican nominee, Donald J. Trump.
Ms. McIver has now come up with what the Trump campaign hopes is the definitive story of who was responsible for stealing portions of Michelle Obama’s speech given in 2008. My problem is, I think it actually indicts Melania Trump as the worse kind of plagiarist. When I was a child it was called throwing the rock and hiding your hands. According to the latest accounts from the staffer, she took notes during a phone call in the midst of consultation with Mrs. Trump in preparation for her debut to the American public at large. Melania talked of her admiration for Mrs. Obama, and we now know, quoted some passages to Ms. Meredith that she took at face value and did not check for theft of intellectual property.
So after two days of campaign chief Paul Manafort denying the plagiarism charge and having surrogates blame everyone from Akon (who ironically recorded a song entitled, ‘Sorry, Blame it on Me’ to a cartoon pony, it is supremely apparent the fantasy lays at the foot of the Republican Party. The unrelenting psychosis that has overwhelmed a vast number of a necessary two party system, has become endemic. No lie is too big to overcome, no fanciful idea, including defaulting on United States Bonds and renegotiating with our world partners at pennies on the dollar is too insane. Had Hillary Clinton even brought up the idea of purposely dropping the credibility of the US monetary system in the ash can as part of some hair-brained financial strategy, she would be labeled a devil; Oh I forgot Trump supporter, Dr. Ben Carson did that at the Republican Convention Wednesday night.
What in the name of all that is, Republican holy has happened to this country? The fact that factions and sectors of America have so let hate and fear infiltrate their lives, that the idea of selecting an obvious unqualified man to run the most powerful government in the world is an absurdity. After watching an underwear model, Antonio Sabato Jr, Scott Baio, ‘gives us Chachi wisdom,’ Dr Ben, ‘I know Lucifer when I see her,’ Carson and Melania the re-booter speak, anyone on the fence, is teetering on disaster.
