The Olympic Dream of Donald Trump

Performing a Triple Pretzel with a Two and a Half Twist, Donald Trump has achieved the impossible, tying the Republican Party into an inextricable knot.

Mr. Trump has been in a snit over the rulings of Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who has the audacity to inspect the dealings of Trump University, a dubious educational institution named after its founder, Donald J. Trump.  The judge has been accused of bias because he is of Mexican descent and somehow in the mind of Mr. Trump that is an automatic disqualifier; Mr. Trump’s reasoning, “I’m building a wall Jake” in response to a question about his own possible racial animus by CNN correspondent Jake Tapper.   Judge Curiel was born in East Chicago, Indiana by the way, and has been under tight security due to a threat from a Tijuana, Mexican drug cartel he prosecuted as an Assistant US Attorney earlier in his career.

So Newt Gingrich called Mr. Trump’s characterization of the Judge a “mistake” and on cue Donald Trump expressed his disappointment in Newt Gingrich.  Newt purportedly is on the short list of Vice President candidates for Mr. Trump.  House Speaker, Republican Paul Ryan, has spent the entire campaign season condemning weekly comments made by Mr. Trump, condoning violence, disparaging, women, Hispanics, African Americans and Muslims (almost forgot he added Native Americans to the list just two weeks ago).  Mr. Ryan mistook Donald’s aspirations for Olympic Gold and placed him on a baseball diamond, saying his recent comments concerning Judge Curiel were, “out of left field.”

Make no mistake Donald Trump is enjoying the big tent. Huge crowds of screaming sycophants, ready to punch anyone in opposition. His followers are like WWE fans they know it’s a show but love the occasional bloodletting (I think I just mixed my metaphors).

Donald Trump enjoys the power that accompanies his self-made mayhem.  He likes the looks of angst on the faces of those who oppose him.  The twist and turns of those trying to keep up with his dance of political death.  The biggest problem the Republican Party has now, is to try and outrun their chosen Gold Medal contender or collapse in a heap, breathlessly trying to keep pace with his insane running style.  Leaps, jumps and hurling insulting mud covered barbs in his wake, are wearing thin, even in Republican circles.

Any day now, be prepared for Tonya Harding to be added to his campaign team. Hillary, don’t forget your knee pads.

Vote 2016!
