“I Never Touched You”…Really, Corey?

Anyone alibiing for, or discounting Donald Trump’s ignorant responses to world events should be embarrassed.

The last time a public display of malevolent misinterpretation of fact and logic was played out so openly for the American public, was Judge Lance A. Ito’s rulings in the OJ Simpson murder trial.  For those of you muttering to yourselves, how can I compare a murder to a Presidential race, I would submit the damage Donald Trump could cause and its consequences are far higher.  In the past few days he has seriously proposed the dissolution of NATO and arming Japan with nuclear weapons.  Couple that with him doing everything possible to destroy relations with the Muslim world, the biggest factor in our ability to combat terrorism, and we have the formula for disaster.  Holding up his hands to display their size or building walls will not suffice to quell world discontent.

For some reason, I suppose for the sake of polite engagement, reporters, opponents, even his enemies are afraid to say that Donald John Trump, is a dangerous political fool. Maybe some confusion about the difference between the amassing of wealth and intelligence is the cause for this hesitation. Anderson Cooper of CNN, compared the counter arguments Trump uses, to those of a five-year old.  Andrea Mitchell of MSNBC and NBC was aghast at the transcript of a Trump editorial interview from the Washington Post. Her amazement was at Donald Trump’s complete and obvious witlessness to how world affairs work.

The man is a walking bumper sticker, nothing more.  His latest defense of his campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, for manhandling a female conservative reporter, is preposterous on its face. He has accused her of somehow manufacturing bruises to enhance her story or maybe even plotting to attack him with an ink pen bomb.  Why this man is ever taken seriously is baffling.  He proves Senator Bernie Sanders’ point daily, that the undue respect for money has so skewed the process that, even a fool and his money can play a part. People are being pepper sprayed, beaten up, taunted, pushed, shoved and festooned with racial epithets.  This is not a man who wants to make America Great Again, it’s a man feeding his outsized ego.  He has never gotten over his dressing down by President Obama and his fondest dream is to have the reins of power handed to him by the exiting President. From that point, we would be subjected to the constant threat of annihilation, a possible financial crisis instigated by a man who has had repeated bankruptcies and a rebellion from hundreds of the disaffected. Mr. Trump’s response to these problems, is best illustrated by his own words from one of his February rallies, “I’d like to punch him in the face.” That sounds really tough but is no solution.
