Ted Cruz, is offended that a rival who has made us weary with boorish behavior is hell bent on revenge over a picture of his wife laid bare (no pun intended).
Meanwhile, the President of the United States is issuing sobering statements on the tragedy in Brussels. While Mr. Obama, is diplomatically fighting oppression in communist Cuba and being the world’s statesman in the face of cruel and barbaric treatment of its citizens, Republicans offer Donald Trump and Senator Ted Cruz. D. Trump and T. Cruz, ridiculed the President just yesterday for not taking the bombings, that have taken lives in Belgium, seriously enough. Twenty-four hours later they are battling over who can expose the sins of their wives publicly and with as much shame, as their campaigns. Now I have to say, Mr. Cruz has claimed no affiliation with the Super-Pac that re-published a nude photo of Melania Trump, but having lied in the past, can we trust he had no forewarning?
As for Mr. Trump, his act is getting old and tiresome. Blah, blah, blah you’re a liar, blah, blah, blah, I warn you, blah. blah. blah, you hit me, I hit you back. I never want to hear any dimwitted Trump supporter ever say again, ‘Obama is not Presidential.’ Hillary Clinton spoke in real terms yesterday about the threats a Ted Cruz or Donald Trump administration would offer to the American people and how it would doom us to unending conflict. Trump wants to bring back something beyond waterboarding as torture. Who knows, the rack, maybe? Sen. Cruz, wants Nazi style roundups and surveillance of Muslims, maybe he wants to tag them with the crescent moon and star patches as identifiers. The atrocities of the Third Reich should have taught him better.
When oh when, will this madness end? I wake up every morning to some ridiculous statement of political gamesmanship from some ridiculous Republican pandering to a base of ridiculous “uneducated” voters looking for some group to blame other than themselves. They’ve wasted years of votes on the economic ruins of the Reagan and Bush years and now want to take it out on a religion, most know nothing about. President George W. Bush, said he was not aware of the difference between Sunni and Shia Muslims. This was not coming from some rube, (well maybe) but a man charged with the safety, ostensibly of the free world. We get this constant symbolism of strength from Republicans, from standing on the deck of a carrier in a flight suit, to promising torture and carpet bombing, this from a group who couldn’t find a hole in the ground if they fell in.
Whether you are a Feeling the Bern or Climbing Mount Hillary, please don’t sit at home fiddling, because your “guy or gal” (thanks Sarah) didn’t win the nomination and let Rome burn.
