My Son? What a Bunch of Malarkey!

Without a scintilla of evidence, the impression from the White House, Congressional Republicans, and Fox News devotees is that Joe Biden is a schemer.  According to President Donald Trump, his henchman Rudy Giuliani, a cadre of House Republicans, and the Department of Justice's leader William Barr, something is rotten besides their own morality.  Rumors of Mr. Trump wanting a show trial in the Senate, amidst revelations that Majority leader Mitch McConnell is working alongside the President to rig the trial and that Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Lindsey Graham is publicly telling the world he will violate the special oath that will be administered to the members of the Senate, scheming has reached a new level:

I solemnly swear (or affirm, as the case may be,) that in all things appertaining to the trial of the impeachment of___ ___, now pending, I will do impartial justice according to the Constitution and laws: so help me God.

With a great public flourish, in reference to the impending Senate trial of Donald John Trump, Senator Graham said, “I am trying to give a pretty clear signal I have made up my mind. I'm not trying to pretend to be a fair juror here.”Graham seemingly is also tossing his chips in the pot and gambling that the President's personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani has acquired some evidence during his Ukraine excursions that heretofore was undiscovered by 17 American intelligence agencies. “Rudy, if you want to come and tell us what you found, I'll be glad to talk to you,” Graham said, “I don’t know what Rudy found, I don’t know what he was up to when he was in the Ukraine,”Graham’s statement concluded.

It is peculiar that Sen. Graham is so willing to violate his oath to America but is willing to give the benefit of the doubt to Giuliani, whose contacts with Igor Fruman and Lev Parnas, who have questionable Russian contacts that have resulted in indictments of both men.  The fulcrum that tilts the Republican argument is that the former Vice-President [Biden] is guilty of using his son [Hunter] to manipulate, in a yet to be explained plan, and alter the outcome of the 2016 United States Presidential election. What is behind Mr. Trump’s spurious argument is that some sort of proxy nepotism was at play.

I wonder if some of that advice was given to him by the son-in-law of AG William Barr, Tyler McGaughey who now works as legal counsel in the White House.  Or could it have been a whisper from the son of Rudy Giuliani, Andrew Giuliani, who works with the public-liaison office dealing with outreach to outside coalitions?  Certainly, it is not because of his ties to his Dad but his stellar work in getting pro sports teams to visit the White House; to the tune of a 90 grand a year salary, I might add?

Hypocrisy much?

The President's son-in-law getting loans from the Saudis, his daughter Ivanka with numerous Chinese manufacturing patents, the Trump Foundation paying 2 million dollars in fines for fraudulent behavior and the Trump children, Don Jr., Ivanka and Eric being ordered to attend seminars on how to run a legal charity.  So when Republicans scream in their jacket-less splendor, Hunter, Hunter, Hunter, just smile and say the glare from the mirror must be blinding.

Vote in 2020 for Change.
