Most of us have heard or read the Biblical story of Daniel in the lion’s den. Daniel is given a high office, only to have his master, fooled by Daniel’s rivals, condemn him to death in the lion’s den. Well, I am sure Stormy Daniels, the femme fatale of a sorted story of adultery, betrayal and all-around skullduggery is facing the lion or is it the liar. Her now tormentor, and alleged past lover, Donald Trump of Mar-a-Lago, if able, would personally throw her to the lions if he could. The question is why? A cadre of legal minds, that now includes Trump Organization assistant counsel Jill Martin, who has joined Trump attorney Michael, ‘says who’ Cohen in trying to silence the porn siren. Mr. Cohen says she is fabricating the story.
So again, I ask, why?
I am not a lawyer, nor do I play one or TV but since when has jurisprudence allowed a lawyer to operate on behalf of a client unbeknownst to the client? That’s the unfinished story with an important unanswered question. Cohen said he took out an equity loan on his home and paid the poor Ms. Daniels for…WHY? Even a dead man or woman leaves instructions in a will, although some consider the President to be brain dead, I know he is alive; I heard him lie just yesterday. With all the dalliances both alleged and proven by former Presidents, Roosevelt, Johnson, Kennedy, and Clinton none can match the audacious manner of this doozy. We are legitimately questioning the veracity of the President of the United States’ word when pitted against that of a porn star. The not so funny thing is, we overwhelmingly, if not unanimously, believe the porn star.
The political immorality of this President has me so worn out, I have not even thought of satisfying my curiosity by pulling up a Stormy Daniels video. For those of you who think I am staking out some moral high ground, far from it. I am just so inundated with the daily obscenity of the Trump Presidency the thought of seeing a woman who consented to sleep with him almost makes me sick. I am offended by the constant lying, the pleasure he [Trump] derives from humiliating his friends and foes, and most of all his unabashed wallowing in his disgraceful ignorance.
I have heard Stormy Daniels in interviews refer to herself as a ‘slut,” and although it strains logic, it is a pleasure to hear her tell and live within the truth of her existence. I know that last statement could start a debate about exploitation and the lack of a moral compass, but Ms. Daniels, or Clifford, has made her choices and right now may be considered one of the most honest people of note in America. Certainly, when you compare her to our current Head of State, Donald Trump.
The next shoe to drop is the awaited 60 Minutes interview. I will be shocked if the already taped true confession, conducted by Anderson Cooper, appears this Sunday. CBS, I am sure, wants to roll out the PR machine first, give Trump a week to build the gate with his wild tweeting and maybe a few more distracting firings. Eventually, we will see the interview and get the tawdry details, and unfortunately, the picture painted by Ms. Daniels will haunt our dreams for much, much too long.
