The long awaited DACA decision, that became an ambiguity by nightfall, was articulated forcefully yesterday by Attorney General Jefferson Sessions. Of course, by the time the expected and deserved criticism from both sides of the political aisle was made public, Donald Trump had undercut the messenger.

Congress now has 6 months to legalize DACA (something the Obama Administration was unable to do). If they can't, I will revisit this issue!
This lie we have been told about the unconstitutionality of the Obama Executive order to allow children who were brought here by their parents, legal status, has never been directly declared unlawful by the original challenge in a Texas Court or by the U.S. Supreme Court.
What was stopped was the DAPA program which denied the rights of undocumented parents who met eligibility requirements to stay legally in America. The sadness of yesterday’s announcement is the confirmation of my fears that the current President of the United States is no more conversant on DACA or DAPA than he was about Healthcare Reform or the impending Tax Reform legislation. Simply stated, we have a man so averse to knowledge, that setting policy with a tweet allows him to avoid explanation.
His history of leaving unfinished plates of legislative garbage on the table and having his underlings eat his leftovers is becoming legendary. Obama “wiretapped my lines”was just proven untrue by his[Trump] own Department of Justice. No comment from Mr. Trump. He tweeted out his proposed ban of transgender participation in the military, that left the Pentagon scrambling and even ultra conservative Senator Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) when corned was forced to speak out. Trump walked away with no comment. These fits of tweets and stops have left not only the American public in a state of neurotic consternation but the rest of the world.
When do we get to rest…? Build a wall, fire, and fury, self-deport, raise taxes, lower taxes, “fine people,” Nazis, monuments, my head is ready to explode. Meanwhile, the President hides away in the ivory tower of his own self-importance and threatens friends and enemies alike. Is that really how the “art of the deal” works?”
His ascension to power starting with an escalator ride down to the lobby of Trump Tower may have been a foreboding omen of America’s downward spiral. We have not hit bottom yet but that escalator continues to descend. I mentioned a friend of mine, in recent writings, who survived Hurricane Harvey in Houston. She is Haitian and came to America and brought her infant daughter. In the cruelest fate of all, the winds of God could not take her child but an American President is trying. Yes, her baby, now a woman, is a DACA beneficiary.
She followed all the rules, school, work, no criminality and was promised a home. Now the President wants to rescind that rule and as always, he is looking to place blame elsewhere. He instituted a threat that he now claims he will revisit, in a tweet, of course; he blamed Obama and Congress. Mr. President, your coward's slip is hanging; either be the man you claim to be, the one who talks about having, “love for these people” or be the lesser man your base of deplorables demands.
