Ignorance is like water, it seeks its own level. That being said, Donald Trump is a geyser in the valley. A lot of spectacular gushes a few times a day but consisting of tasteless liquid sinking into the abyss.
Fortunately, I am not subjected to Jeffrey Lord on CNN any longer because he tweeted out a Nazi salute on his Twitter feed and was fired. For some inexplicable reason, MSNBC found it necessary to pick up the slack and hire its own white-haired partisan, Hugh Hewitt. The creepy Roger Stone, lifelong Trump friend is always lurking in the underbrush of conspiracy and sexual peccadillos. With these three, the triumvirate of the stereotypical white man is complete.
Ask any of them to criticize the obvious, Trump’s supremacist ignorance, and the answer usually comes back starting with, “when Obama” and ends with a 1933 New Deal history lesson. Hewitt on TV and radio and Stone and Lord, by the internet, have hunkered down and are weaving the latest fabric of excuses trying to put a cloak over racism, but even they are finding the truth hard to cover. People seem reluctant to say so, but if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it is a racist. I have to give the Republican Party credit the strategy now seems to be to revert to an old tried and true tactic, Black face.
Paris Dennard has made his return…
Dennard has spent most of the last three nights on CNN carrying an empty pale of water for Donald Trump, to the chagrin of fellow black Republican Joseph Pinion III. Pinion just cannot cross that ideological Rubicon into Trump Land. I guess morality is not completely dead in the GOP.
Dennard has had two blow ups over writers Charles Blow and Keith Boykin’s assertions that his clarity on issues involving Trump fuel what appear to be his self-hating lack of clarity on race. How hard is it to say, the President was wrong…full stop. Of course taking a page directly from the GOP talking points playbook, Dennard makes feeble attempts at disparaging former President Obama’s handling of The Mother Emanuel Church, and Sandy Hook massacres. Somehow, Paris thought the below response was insufficient but as a minion of Donald Trump, he has been espousing that Mr. Trump has hit just the right chords in his half-hearted denunciation of White Supremacist groups.
I guess that fact finding mission being conducted by Mr. Trump will allow him to understand that brave American soldiers fought the Nazis and White Supremacist bear “Strange Fruit.” Three lives were lost as a direct result of the bigots, racist, and miscreants that descended upon Charlottesville, Virginia last Saturday. Meanwhile, the President of the United States has equated the father of our country with sedition told peaceful counter-protesters they have sunken to the same moral depths as racist and touted his bootstrapping self-aggrandizing economic success, prior to going on a self-serving tirade. By the way, he finally mentioned in his own fumbling way, the tragedy in Virginia.
