Democrats are eating their young over the issue of identity politics. Trying to level the playing field of opportunity is not a terrible thing. However, the conservative movement has turned the nobility of helping on its head. Democrats are fighting for the rights of the poor and sick to have a livable wage and healthcare. Republicans who often wrap themselves in the flag while holding the Bible and a shotgun, have forgotten the “least of these.”
Conservatives have made a legislative living using identity politics, the problem is, it has been one identity.
Republicans have cleverly smeared liberals as being race hustling, marriage destroying, baby killing snowflakes because they dare to care. In the past year and a half Donald Trump has accused an Indiana born judge of bias because he is of Mexican

Just recently he labeled a judge in California, who ruled against his defunding of so-called sanctuary cities of having “San Francisco” values, and his Attorney General called into question a judge, in the great state of a Hawaii, by characterizing him “as sitting on an island in the Pacific” when he ruled against his [Trump] travel ban,https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/20/us/politics/jeff-sessions-judge-hawaii-pacific-island.html?_r=0.
Meanwhile Democrats have locked themselves in this senseless battle of debating an issue that needs no debate. Arguing for the rights of the displaced and disenfranchised is not to the exclusion of others. Leave that to Mitch McConnell and the Republicans they have done an excellent job.
Megyn Kelly, formerly of Fox News and a recent hire of NBC was hailed as a hero by Democrats because she decided to fight back against a withering attack of her personally by Donald Trump. She had never spoken publicly before about what she knew is a misogynist culture at Fox News. She was a willing supporter of the, white male first group, until it hit home.

Be careful Democrats when you conduct your ‘Democratic autopsy’ not to figuratively cut off your nose and no longer smell the truth. Identity politics has existed in this country since the first European stepped foot on the shores of America and soon after declared war on its inhabitants. The strength of liberalism has been to recognize inequities, acknowledge the damage and take steps to, “form a more perfect union.”
