Just about a week ago Donald Trump said either on the 3rd(Tuesday) or the 4th (Wednesday) he would release information about Russian hacking that even the American intelligence agencies do not have www.vanityfair.com/... . Today is Friday, I am waiting…
I freely admit I am a Democratic partisan but partisanship does not diminish the truth, a liar does. The daily lies from either the lips of Donald Trump, or one of his spokespeople, cannot be enumerated in a short column. Someday someone smarter than I will amass multiple volumes of misleading, misinformed and misstated quotes from the President-elect. Recently the Wall Street Journal has decreed they will not use language that has the words, “President Trump is a liar digitalmajority.com/...” euphemisms, it appears, will be the hallmark of the tweeter-in-chief’s, administration.
Donald Trump has aligned himself with a dictator, Vladimir Putin, a mobster Joey “No Socks” Cinque [I am not kidding] a convicted murderer, Don King and a rapist, Mike Tyson. I am sure opponents of the Clinton(s) are at the ready with a list of associations of Bill and Hillary but ‘uh, uh you...’ arguments do not justify Donald Trump, it is just an excuse. Surrogates for Mr. Trump never counter with reasoned opposition for the behavior of their petulant charge, they swim, swerve and spin their way into a “Hillary bad” discussion.
The spread of Donald-ism has further emboldened the right-wing mean machine. Paul Ryan is working overtime to take away cancer screening, prenatal healthcare, and planned parenting from millions of poor women and men. Mike Pence, is salivating at the thought of how quickly Republicans can uninsure over 20 million Americans who, many for the first time in their lives, have the security of health insurance. Then we have Mitch McConnell, who has spent the last eight months not allowing the sitting President a hearing or vote on his Supreme Court nominee www.huffingtonpost.com/.... After many months and years of obstruction Mitch is moaning and groaning about a threat from Senator Chuck Schumer to block Donald Trump’s impending nominee www.msnbc.com/.... “Isn’t it ironic,” thanks Alanis Morissette
The week began with the Republican party moving to eliminate the Office of Congressional Ethics and having, maybe, the most publicly unethical man in the history of the presidency rapping their knuckles. Even his taking credit for pretending he caused the withdrawal of the measure was a lie. The outcry from the public, both Republicans and Democrats, embarrassed Congress into tabling the measure until it can be quietly slipped in later. Is there no end to the mess we find ourselves in? In a few weeks, the new President of the United States will have photos of him and described mobster Joey ‘No Socks’ entering the archive of American Presidential history. Mr. Trump has promised to fill the American pot with delicious ingredients but shoving immorality down our throats is like driving angrily onto the causeway. Clemenza is stewing the marinara sauce. Democrats it is time to go to the mattresses.
Vote 2018, it’s not too late!
