And the Wheels on the Bus go ‘Round and ‘Round

As Chris Christie continues to wipe away the tread marks from his suit, Chief Justice John Roberts looks for an axle grease solvent and FBI director James Comey licks his wounds, the wheels of the Republican bus continue to seek and destroy.

Prior to the 2012 Presidential election, Governor Chris Christie was fitted with horns and pointed tail because he, literally, touched the Black President in response to his sincere offer of help and federal aid following hurricane Sandy.  Supreme Court Chief Justice Roberts was called everything from a fraud to a, “liberal in the pocket of Obama” by conservatives. He was found guilty in the court of public Republican opinion of adhering to the law and the commerce clause of the Constitution and ruled the mandate provision in the Affordable Care Act was legal. Finally, we have FBI director James Comey who refused to set bad legal precedent and cleared Hillary Clinton of any criminal wrongdoing in her email kerfuffle.

These three men once the darlings of the Republican mean machine are now looked upon with distrust and scorn.  Why, because they applied fairness and common sense to decision making. Donald Trump is the GOP nominee for President, so that dispels any notion of Republican sanity or anti-racism.  By the way, let us not completely absolve Democrats and liberals of totally disavowing racism.  People, like actress Susan Abigail Sarandon, who say things like I still can’t vote for Hillary and contend the country deserves Trump for not supporting Senator Bernie Sanders, are playing Russian roulette with my life and countless other people of color.

That’s an easy call from a palatial estate in New York or Beverly Hills. The option of choosing a racist and a bigot over someone you may only agree with eighty-percent of the time, is an easy choice.

So in an effort to restore his bona fides, Mr. Christie has embraced every ugly aspect of the Republican mantra, trickle all over the poor and disadvantage.  Justice Roberts has tried his level best to kill the Voting Rights Act of 1965 in hopes of being welcomed back into the bosom of the elephant and forgiven.  Director Comey’s sins are multiple, he may be beyond redemption. He hindered the furtherance of the government surveillance program and now he has allowed the eventual next President of the United States to continue her campaign sans the cloud of indictment and prosecution.

To all Republicans, if you show compassion, exercise reason or follow the law and it interferes with the Tea Party directed Republican agenda then watch out, being thrown under the wheels of the bus will leave a long lasting mark.

Vote 2016!
