Despite all the disinformation and misinformation blaming the FBI, Hillary Clinton, and Christopher Steele (dossier), the actual origins of the Trump/Russia probe started with a tip from the Australian government. It was instigated by a then little-known professor, Joseph Misfud and George Papadopoulos, later referred to as a coffee boy by Trump, to diminish his role as a Trump aide. The quote “the answer to all your questions is money” is attributed to the late NBC tv executive Don Ohlmeyer. Attorney John Durham, the once esteemed lawyer appointed by Trump Attorney General Bill Barr to investigate the investigators in the Trump Russian probe, would do well to heed the words of Ohlmeyer. The media could also do its job by delving into the mistakes and coverups and what may be actual evidence of crimes.
On a junket to Italy, the Italian government informed Durham and Barr of possible financial crimes committed by the former President [Trump], according to an article in the New York Times. Barr furthered his questionable appointment of Durham by giving him the additional role of investigating the Italian questions about what may be Trump’s financial crimes. Several renowned legal minds, including Jill Wine-Banks, Renato Mariotti, and Glen Kirschner, are asking where the declination memo is outlining the Italian accusations.
Trump’s constant clamor to increase his personal wealth fits the GOP philosophical idea. It has become cliché to say the Republican party is the party of the rich. They have proven it time and time again. Most recently, with a two trillion dollar tax cut for the rich during the Trump years, eschewing the debt they now say will ruin the country. Twenty-five percent of the GOP self-described debt ceiling crisis; Trump incurred in his four years as president. From the moment Jamal Khashoggi’s butchering by the Saudis was excused by former President Trump, and two years later, Jared Kushner walked away with two billion dollars from the Saudi government, the answer to all your questions is money. Over 40 Chinese manufacturing patents granted to Ivanka Trump punctuated Trump’s on-again off-again thaw in Chinese/American relations; again, the answer to all your questions….
It is becoming painfully obvious the GOP has Medicare and Social Security on the chopping block. When asked on one of the Sunday morning gabfests, the new Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy, said about Medicare and Social Security “If you read our commitment to America, all we talk about is strengthening Medicare and Social Security,”McCarthy said Sunday. “I know the president says he doesn’t want to look at it, but we’ve got to make sure we strengthen those.” Democrats are skeptical because, historically, Republicans had hinted at privatizing both programs when discussing strengthening Social Security and Medicare. McCarthy, when pressed during another interview where he said the programs were off the table, “What I’m talking about Social Security, Medicare, you keep that to the side,” he said. “What I want to look at is they’ve[Democrats] increased spending by 30%, $400 billion in four years.”
Democrats have asked for details from McCarthy about how much and where the GOP wants to cut. What House Republicans have essentially said to Democrats, who have repeatedly asked for their planned cuts in detail, talk amongst yourselves.
